A new node with a modern hardware foundation
The AMS4 announcement lists AMD, DDR5, PCIe 5.0 and NVMe. The focus is on the hardware foundation for new deployments, making this a different kind of update from simply adding more available servers to an existing site.
Choosing a location is about more than the age of its hardware. An application may need a particular memory capacity, fast disk operations or a predictable network route. Match those requirements to a specific configuration and check your own workload before moving the main service.
- Identify the resource currently limiting the application.
- Check the selected plan's configuration, as well as the site name.
- Prepare a rollback plan for the migration.
