A backup server needs a recovery process
A second VPS is not a complete plan B on its own. Know which data reaches it, how often that data is updated and who can start the service if the main site becomes unavailable. These questions are easier to answer before an incident.
Begin with what must be restored first: the application, database, files or working access. Record the steps and check them with a test copy. If considering an offer mentioned in the announcement, consult the official channel for its terms; a historical news item does not guarantee that a promotion is still active.
- Define what is backed up and how frequently.
- Keep recovery instructions outside the primary server.
- Review the backup scenario after important project changes.
